Our reputation does the work inside the ecosystems where we already operate. Your job is to expand that reach.
Our Team
We are security researchers at heart. People who thrive on finding vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. Our backgrounds span competitive programming, mathematics, and deep smart contract expertise. We work remotely and care obsessively about the quality of the work we ship.
We are also building something larger: contributing to the broader security community through research, open-source work, and our Security Fellowship program. The person who joins us in BD will be part of that mission, not just a sales function bolted on the side.
The Role
You are joining a team that is strong at client relationships. Your focus is growth: building new pipeline, getting in front of the right protocols, and closing.
You are here to win new audit clients. Success is simple: closed audits. You will report directly to the leadership team and work in a small, high-ownership environment where your results are visible immediately.
Responsibilities
- Run aggressive outbound: identify protocols launching new contracts, recently funded teams, and projects with security gaps. Get in front of the right decision-makers before they have chosen an auditor.
- Own the full sales cycle: from cold outreach to scoping call to signed contract
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at Tier-1 protocols, helping them understand their security needs and how Statemind addresses them
- Build and work ecosystem partnerships, grant programs, and audit subsidy initiatives to generate inbound pipeline
- Occasional to frequent travel to represent Statemind at key industry conferences. Not just attend, but convert.
- Meet quarterly targets on new clients closed and pipeline generated
- Work closely with our technical team to scope proposals and position our capabilities accurately
Our Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years in BD, sales, or partnerships, with at least 1 year of crypto or DeFi native business development, partnerships, or governance experience
- You have a technical or mathematical background and can effectively communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Experience in B2B technical sales, preferably in security, DevTools, or infrastructure services. You know what it means to sell expertise, not a product.
- Demonstrated experience in structuring, negotiating, and closing partnerships. Actual signed contracts, not just pipeline.
- Intimate understanding of the DeFi landscape and emerging trends: lending protocols, AMMs, vaults, restaking. You do not need to write Solidity, but you need to understand what gets audited and why a founder cares.
- Ability to operate autonomously and across multiple time zones. You set your own schedule and you own your results.
- Conference energy: you book follow-up calls within 48 hours, not business cards in a drawer
- Willingness to travel for key industry conferences and client meetings
Bonus:
- Prior experience at a security firm or direct familiarity with audit scoping and pricing
- An existing crypto-native network. You can name founders and protocol leads who would take your call today.
- Direct experience working with or running a DeFi protocol or DeFi service teams
- You have worked with or inside a DAO, ecosystem program, or grant committee
- Closer mindset: you can tell us about a deal you were not supposed to win, and did
